There are dozens of food items that you can find throughout Hyrule in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. From basic items like Spicy Peppers to more advanced ingredients, players will need a majority of these if they want to make proper meals for themselves that give them certain stat buffs and resistances. One ingredient that you might be looking for right off the bat in Tears of the Kingdom is Hylian Rice.
This native rice is a key ingredient in several different cooking recipes, and players will want to find its location straight away. Personally, I spent over an hour trying to find Hylian Rice before realizing that it was right under my nose. If you don’t want to make my mistake, then keep reading the guide below for all of the details on finding Hylian Rice in Tears of the Kingdom.
Finding Hylian Rice in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Luckily, the location of Hylian Rice is not far from where you first start out in the newest Zelda title. After making your way through Great Sky Island and getting onto the ground, you will likely make a beeline to Lookout Landing, which is the first major settlement you will stumble upon in Tears of the Kingdom.
Here, you are able to access many different stores, one of which is a General Store. It’s at this location where you can find the first instance of Hylian Rice. Simply approach the shop, head inside, and you will find a grove of Hylian Rice sitting right on top of a counter. You can buy the rice directly from there by holding “A.” It sells for 12 Rupees per piece, and there is a limited amount in stock.
If you buy the entire stock, you will have to head to another General Store to buy more. The only other store I have found that sells Hylian Rice is the General Store in Hateno Village. You can read about how to find the famed village in our previous guide.
Aside from General Stores, you can also find Hylian Rice as a lootable item out in the world. It is a yellow bush that can be harvested in most grassy locations across Hyrule.
