Aside from the true-to-form depiction of Hogwarts, the vast map, dozens of spells, and intriguing story, one of the major attractions in Hogwarts Legacy is the Room of Requirement. This is basically the game’s version of settlement building, as you’re allowed to place a number of structures and other objects in the Room of Requirement. However, as you progress the Room of Requirement, you’ll discover that you can go outside of the magical room and create an even better space in a land that’s all your own.

All of this was shown in the pre-release footage for Hogwarts Legacy, as the developers wanted to entice players with how much freedom the game gives them. After all, who doesn’t want to design their own space with magical potions, herbs, and other objects? However, players have discovered in their time with the game that the Room of Requirement isn’t a feature that’s available from the get-go. In fact, you have to wait quite a bit of time before actually getting access to the room.

Below, you can see exactly at what point you unlock the Room of Requirement in Hogwarts Legacy.

Unlock the Room of Requirement in Hogwarts Legacy

The Room of Requirement is a main story quest that is given to you by Professor Weasley. Although, to get that quest, you need to first finish your first Flying class. This involves learning the basics of broom handling and going to buy your own broom from Sprintwitches in Hogsmeade.

Shortly after you’ve completed that flying class and are the owner of your own broom, Professor Weasley will send you some mail telling you that she has found a way for you to practice your magic in a less-crowded environment. As you might have guessed, that environment is the Room of Requirement. Once you get the professor’s mail, a quest will appear in your journal that says to meet the professor in the Astronomy Tower. This quest is called The Room of Requirement, and after you complete it, you’ll be able to access the room freely. It has a level requirement of 6, though, so make sure you’re at that level before going to meet Professor Weasley.
