After an early exit from Worlds 2021, League of Legends Continental League champions Unicorns of Love bade farewell to their entire starting roster. The team announced that all five players will be leaving the team to play across Europe, either in the ERLs or the LEC. The organization decided to let all these players step out of their contracts, allowing the players to seek new paths outside the LCL.

Players leave with a legacy in the LCL

Aside from Andrey “Argonavt” Yajoviev,” all other UOL starting members have been on the team since 2019. Together, they won four LCL titles, representing the region in all international tournaments since 2020. The team became the first LCL team to qualify for the Worlds 2020 groups stages. They also represented the region in the 2021 Mid- Season Invitational. After a strong showing in their 2021 summer split, they surprisingly had to claw their way into the playoffs to clinch their worlds ticket. While the UOL team did not achieve international success, they made sure their fun and lively presence were felt throughout.

Even though UOL is losing their starting roster, the organization will still compete in the upcoming spring split with plans for a rebuild. However, given the dominance of these players in the region for two years, it will be difficult to replace them.

With the offseason still ongoing, it will come as no surprise to see some members of the UOL roster sign for European teams. Both Lev “Nomanz” Yakshin and Krill “AHaHaCIK” Skvortsov, along with the rest of the team, had some incredible performances at worlds. Even though they only won one game out of three, their win against Cloud9 showed some glimpses of their talents.
