In Call of Duty: Vanguard, the Sten is known as the gun that players have a hard time seeing around when sprinting. Regardless of the Sten’s strange design, though, it’s a solid submachine gun that’s currently being vastly overshadowed by the MP40. While the Sten isn’t as strong as the MP40, it features a loadout that can rival some of the top Vanguard weapons.

Like other SMGs in the class, the Sten features a high fire rate with great mobility and average damage range. It won’t be able to kill enemies across the map in three shots but it can be serviceable at medium-range. Of course, it’s truly best served in close-range, where it can use its rate of fire to decimate enemies. The Sten’s recommended loadout only helps this cause in Vanguard.

Best Sten loadout in Vanguard

There are some attachments on the Sten that make it arguably the best close-range SMG in Vanguard. It’s extremely mobile when using the best loadout and has its damage range and recoil control improved as well.

  • Muzzle: M1929 Silencer
  • Barrel: Hockenson 348MM B13S
  • Optic: Slate Reflector
  • Stock: Gawain Para
  • Underbarrel: Carver Foregrip
  • Magazine: 7.62 Gorenko 32 Round Mags
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Polymer Grip
  • Kit: Quick
  • Proficiency: Gung-Ho

This loadout starts with some attachments to increase damage. The Hockensor 348MM B13S barrel, 7.62 Gorenko 32 Round Mags and Lengthened Ammo Type all play a part in this.

For mobility, there are far more options. The Gawain Para provides extra sprint-to-fire along with movement speed, as does the Quick Proficiency. The Gung-Ho Proficiency is vital to the loadout, as it allows players to fire when sprinting and is currently considered broken in Vanguard.

Finally, the Sten gains some extra accuracy and recoil control with the Polymer Grip, Carver Foregrip and M1929 Silencer. With all of these attachments, players will be mobile and dangerous on the map with the Sten in Vanguard.
