There has really only been one assault rifle used by a majority of Ranked Play players in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and that’s the TAQ-56. The TAQ is the current AR of choice by the pros in the Call of Duty League, and there is a clear reason for that. The replica of the SCAR-H is incredibly powerful, possessing the ability to two-tap players with a proper headshot. Although, if players are looking for an assault rifle to use aside from the TAQ-56 in Ranked Play, I suggest going with the Lachmann 556 and its best loadout.

The Lachmann 556 has always been seen as a good, not a great weapon in MW2 multiplayer. Compared to other assault rifles, the Lachmann 556 just doesn’t have the same firepower that’s required in a competitive environment. The TAQ-56 and the Kastov rifles can simply kill quicker than the Lachmann 556, which has turned players off from using it. However, with my loadout, players can make up for that missing damage without sacrificing other stats.

To see the full loadout for the Lachmann 556 in Ranked Play, keep reading below.

Best Lachmann 556 loadout for MW2 Ranked Play

  • Barrel: 15.9″ Lachmann Rapp Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Edge 47 Grip
  • Ammunition: 5.56 High Velocity
  • Rear Grip: LMK64 Grip
  • Stock: FT Mobile Stock

For strictly damage range purposes, I have opted to go with the 15.9″ Lachmann Rapp Barrel. Since the Lachmann 556 has such low damage, especially at range, you want as much firepower as possible. The rest of the loadout focuses on accuracy, mobility, and bullet velocity. The Edge 47 Grip and LMK64 Grip add some accuracy while the FT Mobile Stock improves your overall mobility for those close-range gunfights.

Finally, I have the 5.56 High Velocity ammunition to ensure that your bullets get to their destination as quickly as possible. The Lachmann 556 isn’t becoming meta anytime soon, but players who want to use it in Ranked now have a terrific loadout to challenge the TAQ-56.
