The main two weapons that players have been using in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play is the TAQ-56 assault rifle and Vaznev-9K submachine gun. These are the weapons that the pros in the Call of Duty League, and Ranked players have followed suit. However, some Ranked players have been wanting to go off-meta in their matches as of late. If you fall into this crowd, you can try out an alternative loadout with the Kastov 545, which is surprisingly strong in Ranked Play.

The Kastov 545 has always played second fiddle to its older brother, the Kastov 762. While there is some merit to players picking the 762 over the 545, the latter can still pack quite a punch in Ranked Play. Players will need to hit more consistent shots with the Kastov 545 due to its lower fire rate, but they will have an easier time controlling the weapon’s recoil. Luckily, the Kastov 545’s weaknesses can be easily taken care of with the right attachments.

To see the full loadout for the Kastov 545 in Ranked Play, keep reading below.

Best Kastov 545 loadout for MW2 Ranked Play

  • Muzzle: Sakin Tread-40
  • Barrel: IG-K30 406mm
  • Underbarrel: FSS Sharkfin 90
  • Ammunition: 5.45 High Velocity
  • Rear Grip: True-Tac Grip

You will immediately see quite a large boost to your recoil control and bullet velocity with this Kastov 545. The High Velocity ammo and the IG-K30 406mm barrel drastically improve bullet velocity while the Sakin Tread-40 increases accuracy. The FSS Sharkfin 90 underbarrel adds some stability to the loadout as well.

Finally, we have the True-Tac Grip to give the Kastov 545 a little extra mobility for close and mid-range gunfights. Your aim down sights speed and sprint-to-fire time will both be increased with this particular rear grip.

The Kastov 545 is no threat to the TAQ-56 yet, but perhaps in the future, this underrated AR will be seen more and more.
