T1’s Braxton “brax” Pierce announced he will take a step back from competitive play in VALORANT to pursue streaming full-time.
The former Counter-Strike prodigy transitioned to VALORANT when the game launched in an effort to restart his career and move forward from his time in Counter-Strike. He initially joined T1 in the first iteration of their VALORANT roster alongside many of his former teammates from Counter-Strike. After several missed opportunities at tournaments, T1 moved brax to the bench where he was then picked up by TSM. However, his time with TSM was short-lived as he only played one tournament with them before eventually returning to T1.
Now, with a year of attempting to compete in VALORANT now behind him, brax has made the decision to pursue streaming full-time. The announcement came in the form of the TwitLonger, where brax explained that his headspace wasn’t right for competing at the moment.
“As much as I love competing, I am super excited to get back on the stream grind and be with my awesome community again,” brax said on Twitter. “For those asking where I’ve been I’ve deemed it super necessary to take a step back and focus on my personal life and essentially finding my happiness again after a crazy year of ups and downs both in and out of game.”
Brax stays with T1 as a streamer
While brax said that he would not be competing for the time being, he did reveal that he would be staying with his current organization with T1. Instead of competing under them, brax will now be transitioning to a content creator position. A transition that brax said was made smooth by the people within T1.
“I want to thank Joe Marsh, Wawa, and all of T1 for making this transition so smoothly and I’m happy I can still represent this legendary org even if it’s through a different lens,” said brax.
With over 500,000 followers on Twitch, brax will have a huge following backing him whenever he gets into a groove with his new streaming schedule.
