Beyond the Summit announced Thursday the line-up of invitees for Smash Summit 15 and Smash Ultimate Summit 6, the organization’s upcoming Super Smash Bros. Melee and Ultimate invitationals, respectively. The announcement came just before Genesis 9, which is a qualifier for both invitationals.
Only two players received direct invitations to Smash Summit 15: Zain “Zain” Naghmi and Jake “Jmook” DiRado. Meanwhile, the following four players received invitations to Smash Ultimate Summit 6:

- William “Glutonny” Belaid
- Mashita “acola” Hayato
- Naoto “ProtoBanham” Tsuji

This weekend, multiple players will join the Smash Summit 15 and Ultimate Summit 6 invitees by qualifying for Summit through Genesis 9. There will be one spot up for grabs in the Ultimate bracket and two spots available in the Melee bracket. This means that the highest-placing players at Genesis who have not already secured a spot at Summit will do so come Sunday.

Both Smash Summit 15 and Smash Ultimate Summit 6 had a short list of invitees because many of the best players in each game previously qualified in December. Before any invitees had been announced, the top six players in each bracket at Mainstage 2022 earned spots at their respective Summit.
The following group of top 10 Melee players qualified for Smash Summit 15 at Mainstage:

- Cody Schwab
- Masaya “aMSa” Chikamoto
- Hugh “SluG” Hegarty
- Juan “Hungrybox” DeBiedma
- William “Leffen” Hjelte
It is worth noting that SluG teased his retirement from competitive Melee at the beginning of this year. As a result, it is unclear whether he will still compete at Smash Summit 15. On the Ultimate side, this roster of six top 20 players qualified for Ultimate Summit 6 at Mainstage:

- Gavin “Tweek” Dempsey
- Dawson “Big D” Perron
- Paris “Light” Ramirez

Beyond the Summit’s invitationals typically include 16 players. As a result, there will be six spots left to fill for Smash Summit 15 after Genesis. Meanwhile, Smash Ultimate Summit 6 will have five spots to fill after Genesis. The tournament organizers will likely fill these spots through the typical vote-in process, while potentially leaving room for more invitations or qualifier tournaments.
With the current line-up of invitees and qualified players, both Smash Summit 15 and Ultimate Summit 6 will feature their reigning champions: Mang0 for Melee and ProtoBanham for Ultimate. While the TOs have not announced the exact dates for these tournaments, Smash Ultimate Summit 6 will take place in March. Then, Smash Summit 15 will occur in June.
