Before you reach the Central Loop and advance the story of Dying Light 2 Stay Human, there are some decisions to be made. And one of the toughest decisions is in regard to Jack and Joe, two bandits who are causing some serious havoc in Old Villedor. You will encounter Jack and Joe at the top of an old Water Tower in the city, where they plan to detonate bombs to rid the Bazaar of their water supply. However, before they do that, you have a chance to let them escape the city.

Fans are torn on what to do when presented with this decision. On the one hand, Jack and Joe are known to be murderous psychopaths who were ready to blow up an entire water tower. However, if you simply don’t want to side with the Bazaar, this could be your chance to strike a blow to the Survivors’ cause.

Below, you can see the outcome of both choices regarding Jack and Joe in Dying Light 2.

The fate of Jack and Joe in Dying Light 2

Jack and Joe are at the top of a water tower when you’re presented with the choice of letting them escape. Before that, you need to scale the tower and disable the bombs the pair have set along the way. Once you’ve disarmed the bombs and made your way to the top of the tower, you’ll find Jack and Joe arguing over what to do.

After bickering with them for a bit, they’ll ask if you could let them escape Old Villedor. If you go with this option, you will learn some additional information regarding the death of Peacekeeper Commander Lucas. You’ll also have a side quest open up later on in Dying Light 2 that involves helping Jack and Joe. Additionally, the Water Tower will be handed over to you if you decide to let them escape.

The other option is to fight Jack and Joe, which will result in both of them dying. The Water Tower will be under your control here as well, but you don’t learn any additional information about Lucas’ death. This doesn’t change the story in a massive way but it does prolong the truth about who killed the commander.

The decision comes down to whether or not you want a side quest later on in Dying Light 2. If you do, then let Jack and Joe escape. If you don’t, kill them where they stand.
