Rocket League and Ford continue their partnership with two new in-game battle-cars, the Ford Mustang Mach-E and the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R, and sponsorship for two tournaments Psyonix announced Monday.
On Dec. 8-12, the RLCS Fall Major takes place in Stockholm, Sweden as the first international LAN in two years. Ford is the official sponsor for the event, and will bring back the Ford + Rocket League Freestyle Invitational, where players will compete for a 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E.

Ford Mustang battle-cars enter Rocket League
Rocket League will be two real-life cars richer on Dec. 9. The Ford Mustang Mach-E (Octane hitbox) and the iconic 1965 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 (Dominus hitbox) will enter the in-game shop for 1100 credits each, about $10, or 2000 credits as a bundle. A NASCAR variant of the Mustang was also added to the game in the past, but was not customizable.
The Ford Mach-E has a special visual in-game. It will become electrically charged when going supersonic. This the second time Psyonix has added something based on speed to the game as a decal, the recently-released Rocket Pass also changes when driving faster.
The Freestyle Invitational is back
Following the success of the first event in February, where content creator “Mesko” won a 2021 Ford F-150, as well as the $25,000 BMW Freestyle Tournament in November, the Ford + Rocket League Freestyle Invitational is back. The event pits the best and most creative freestylers in the U.S. against each other and they are once more competing for a car. This time, the electric Ford Mustang Mach-E is up for grabs.
The Ford + Rocket League Freestyle Invitational will broadcast Dec. 15-16 on the official Rocket League Twitch channel.
Ford sponsors the RLCS Fall Major
On Dec. 8-12, Ford is the sponsor for the first international Rocket League LAN in two years, the RLCS Fall Major. Sixteen of the best Rocket League teams in the world will duke it out for international glory and the event will feature various debutants. Most notably, Asia and the Middle East will make their first-ever appearance on an RLCS stage with Tokyo Verdy and Sandrock Gaming respectively. But those teams are not the only squads making their first-ever appearance.
Both Europe and North America are sending five teams to the major, while Oceania and South America are each sending two. The first three days consist of a Swiss stage, which leads into a single-elimination bracket on Saturday and Sunday.
