The former Royal Never Give Up bot laner, and retired League of Legends player, Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hao is a Co-owner of the esports organization Ultra Fantastic Gaming and is looking to field a League of Legends: Wild Rift roster. Uzi founded the organization along with popular Chinese celebrity Fan Chengcheng.
According to the organizations announcement on Weibo, they are recruiting players for its mobile esports division.
The post reads, “The mobile game division of UFG League of Legends is recruiting professional players. If you are talented in esports and have a professional dream, if you want to stand on a bigger stage, UFG will provide you with the opportunity to realize your dreams and look forward to your joining!”
The announcement also stipulated that players should have a proven proficiency in the title and be able to withstand the stress of competition. The Riot Games title has yet to release in China. But, when it hits mobile stores later this year, it will be called League Mobile.
The organization is also recruiting players for League of Legends and Honor of Kings.
Uzi turns to esports ownership after retirement
Uzi retired from professional League of Legends in 2020 after suffering hand injuries due to prolonged play and practice. In his time as a pro, he appeared in six international events and claimed one Mid-Season Invitational title in 2018. He also placed second at the League of Legends World Championship twice. Furthermore, he won three League of Legends Pro League titles in China.
Uzi mostly played for one organization his entire career: Royal Never Give Up and its previous iteration Royal Club. He is touted as one of the best players to have ever played the game, second only to Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and a revolutionary in the bot lane role.
There has been no word on whether Uzi himself will compete on his Wild Rift squad.
