Day two of the Rainbow Six Invitational playoffs included more matches due to yesterday’s power outage.
Team oNe and Parabellum both had to play two matches in the lower bracket. Parabellum won their first match of the day but ended up losing their second against Team Liquid and are out of the Invitational. Additionally, Furia, Mkers and Team oNe are out tournament. On the other side, NIP continued their hot streak after taking down FaZe clan, and MiBR knocked Oxygen Esports down to the lower bracket.
The semi-finals will continue on May 21.
NIP secure top three at Rainbow Six Invitational
After average results in group stages, many expected the Ninjas in Pyjamas to have a mediocre playoff run. On day one of the playoffs, NIP disproved that and upset the number one European team: BDS Esports. Their win yesterday was down to the wire with an 8-7 win on map three.
Thanks to this, some still doubted their ability on day two. But NIP once again played well in their day two match. While the matches were close, NIP seemed like they had full control over the game. NIP player Gustavo “Psycho” Rigal stayed true to his name and went 32-21 across the series giving, his team the boost they needed to close out the series. It seemed as if every time NIP attacked, Psycho would get a 2k to secure the round. Friday, NIP takes on MiBR for a spot in the grand finals of the Rainbow Six Invitational.

Parabellum eliminated after having to play back to back matches
Despite being 6th in their group, Parabellum had great results in group stages. The North American roster took down NIP and Spacestation Gaming – last year’s Rainbow Six Invitational Finalists. However, due to yesterday’s power outage, Ubisoft decided to change the schedule. As a result, Parabellum was forced to play two matches on the same day while also facing elimination.
They surprisingly took down G2 in their first match after having a great defensive side on Villa and Kafe. But, a few hours later, the North American team went down against Team Liquid, despite Xavier “Eskaa” Avoine’s 20 kills in the series. Members of the community are asking whether these same results would have happened had the power outage not postponed the series.
