Misfits Gaming are expanding into Rocket League by signing the European team, Monkeys, the organization announced on Thursday.
Previously under the Galaxy Racer banner, Mitchell “Mittaen” Driessen and Ario “arju” Berdin picked up Kurtis “Kash” Cannon in the offseason after Daniel “bluey” Bluett left for Guild Esports. Now, one day ahead of the first event of the European Rocket League Championship Series, the roster will compete under an organization again.
It’s also worth noting that Misfits are the second large organization to enter Rocket League in two days after Na’Vi announced their expansion the day before.

Misfits Gaming’s new Rocket League team will compete this weekend
The Misfits Rocket League roster was one of the 16 invited teams for the qualifiers of the first EU RLCS event based on seeding from past results. On Oct. 15, they finished in fourth place and qualified for the main event, which starts on Friday.
The new Misfits recruits are all Rocket League veterans, though none have made it to an RLCS World Championship before. Arju would have made it during RLCS Season 9 with mousesports, but the event was cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
During the past two years, all three players have improved significantly and shown their capabilities in Season X. Under Galaxy Racer, two of the three Misfits — Mittaen and Arju — finished in third-fourth place in last year’s Rocket League Fall Major and seventh-eighth place in the Winter Major. However, they missed out on the Spring Major and, at the season’s conclusion, they were dropped by Galaxy Racer. They finished in a respectable ninth place in the European rankings.
Meanwhile, Kash played for various teams, most recently Rix.gg. After they let him go, he joined the Monkeys in preparation for the RLCS 2021-22 season.
Despite losing a good player in Bluey, being dropped by their organization and a fairly quiet offseason, the trio directly qualified for the first event of the new season by defeating the likes of Dignitas, SMPR Esports and Williams Resolve. They even had the superstars of Team BDS on match point before getting reverse swept.
The underdog Rocket League team with an MS Paint-esque logo are, ironically, no longer Misfits at the top of the RLCS.
