Even though the hype is already on the mid-set expansion for Teamfight Tactics Gizmos & Gadgets, there is still one big tournament left before it. The TFT Gizmos & Gadgets Mid-Set Finale brings the 32 best players across North America to battle it out for a lucrative $25,000 prize pool and, more importantly, the first four spots at the NA Regional Finals. Here is everything needed to know to follow the action.
Format
The Mid-Set Finale format includes three days of competition. On Day 1, the 32 players will split into lobbies at random. They will play six total games. After every two games, lobbies will reseed based on placements. The top 16 players after the end of the six games on Day 1 will move onto Day 2.
Day 2 will have the 16 players advancing from Day 1. Points will be reset and the 16 players will be split into four lobbies, initially based on their performance from Day 1. Just like Day 1, these players will play six games. Lobbies will rotate every two games based on placements. The top eight point scorers will qualify for the finals on Day 3.
Day 3 is championship Sunday. The final eight players will have their points reset and will simply play six games. The top four players will qualify for the Regional Finals later this year. The remaining four players will earn invites to the next big TFT tournament with a chance to get an invite to the Regional Finals. This event won’t use the checkmate format and, although it will technically crown the winner, the difference between first and fourth is $4,000.
Players
There will be 32 players competing. Four of these players are from the Piltover Cup, four are from the Zaun Cup and two are from the Challenger Series event. The remaining 22 qualified through qualifier points.
Notable players include Cloud9’s Micheal “k3soju” Zhang, TSM’s Duy “Souless” Nguyen and Team Liquid’s two North American champions Robin “Robinsongz” Sung and Alex “Kurumx” Tompkins. Outside the big names are rising stars “Ramblinnn” “SpicyAppies” and “Aesah.”
How to watch the TFT Mid-Set Finale
The Gizmos & Gadgets Mid-Set Finale will be broadcast live on all three days. On Friday, a talent roster will be bringing spectators the play-by-play and analysis as the action happens. Rosemary “Nekkra” Kelley will be the host of the event, along with Nathan “Admirable” Zamora, Dan “Frodan” Chou, Khalif “Khroen” Hashim and Wolfe “Wolfey” Glick to break everything down.
Spectators can catch the broadcast on the official TeamfightTactics Twitch channel. The broadcast starts at 7 p.m. EST on Feb. 4 and runs through Feb. 6.
