The Dark Arts Battle Arena was one of the most pre-release attractions for Hogwarts Legacy. It was touted as a place for players to bring on their inner-dark wizard and use the Unforgivable Curses in a combat-oriented environment. Now that Hogwarts Legacy is out for the entire world, we can confirm that that’s exactly what the Dark Arts Battle Arena is. However, some players are confused as to how to get to and enter the arena.

In this guide, you can see exactly how to get to the Dark Arts Battle Arena and what you need to do to get there in Hogwarts Legacy.

Finding the Dark Arts Battle Arena in Hogwarts Legacy

Unfortunately, the Dark Arts Battle Arena requires the Dark Arts pack. This is locked behind the Deluxe and Collector’s Editions of Hogwarts Legacy, so if you only have the base version of the game, you will not have access to the arena. For those who shelled out the extra cash, though, you will have access to the Dark Arts Battle Arena during the first few hours of the game.

If you look on your map after completing some story missions, you will see Hogsmeade to the northeast of the castle. Directly west of Hogsmeade is the Forbidden Forest, and inside the forest, you will see an icon for the Dark Arts Battle Arena. Mark this location on your map, and start making your way there. We recommend being at least level 18-20 before making the trek there, however.

Once you’ve arrived at the icon, you will see a couple of level 20 enemies. Defeat them, and keep going ahead to find a large statue with the Dark Arts Battle Arena symbol on it. At this statue, you need to cast the Revelio spell. This will reveal a number of vases around the area and outline them in blue on your HUD. Destroy these vases using any spell. During this process, a counter will appear on your screen that initially says “0/10.” There are 10 vases to destroy before you can enter the arena. Keep casting Revelio to reveal all of the vases. The counter will keep track of your progress.

After destroying all of the vases, a small cutscene will begin that shows the Dark Arts Battle Arena opening through the large statue. You can now head inside and take on the dark wizards that await you inside.
