There are some held items in Pokémon that have stood the test of time, and the Amulet Coin falls into that category.

Introduced in the original Pokémon games, the Amulet Coin is a classic held item that gives players a way to earn more Poké Dollars. However, in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the location of the Amulet Coin isn’t as easily laid out as it has been in previous games. As a result, players have been wondering where they can find the Amulet Coin in Paldea.

The in-game description for the Amulet Coin is: “It doubles any prize money received as long as the holder joins the battle at least once.” Naturally, for players who buy items from the stores of Paldea, this item is extremely valuable. It essentially gives players a concrete way to never run out of money, so long as they’re battling enough trainers. While it’s not as valuable as gameplay items that boost stats or resolve status inflictions, the Amulet Coin is a great item to give a Pokémon when you’re out wandering the open world.

Get the Amulet Coin in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

The Amulet Coin is a mid-game item, unless you’re willing to travel to a harder location early on in the game. You receive the Amulet Coin from a Pokémon League Representative at a Pokémon Center inside of the town of Medali. To be more specific, you can find the rep at the Northeast Pokémon Center in Medali.

Talk to the rep at the Pokémon Center, and they will ask you if you’ve defeated five trainers in the West Province (Area Three). If you have, then you will receive the Amulet Coin as a reward. If you haven’t, then go back out to the West Province (Area Three), find the necessary trainers, defeat them, and then return to the rep to receive the Amulet Coin.
