In order to fully get the most out of Dying Light 2 Stay Human, you’ll need to do some upgrading. Whether it’s to the paraglider or adding weapon mods to your melee weapons, upgrading is an essential part of the core gameplay. However, in order to actually upgrade items, you’ll need the right materials. One of the tougher materials to come across in Dying Light 2 is batteries.
Like with Military Tech, batteries are a piece of old-world tech that are essential in the upgrading process. Batteries are mainly used in the crafting of explosives and attaching/upgrading weapon mods. However, if you have no need for them, they can also be sold to merchants for a relatively high price.

Finding Batteries in Dying Light 2
There are a few different places that can house batteries in Dying Light 2. The first and most common places are Evacuation Convoys, which are marked on the map with a brown circle icon. They need to be discovered by getting close to them, so you’ll need to explore the map and all of its “?” points to find more of the convoys.
To open the convoys, defeat or distract all of the Infected surrounding them, open up the back of the truck with a lockpick and see what’s inside. Usually, you can find some batteries, as shown below.
You can also find batteries by exploring Dark Hallows and Forsaken Stores at nighttime. These locations get far less dangerous at night but you’ll need to use your Survivor Sense to see where certain objects are. To find batteries, you want to search places, like cabinets and drawers, with a purple glow (the rarity color for batteries).
