Some Pals can be extremely elusive in Palworld, especially if spend a ton of time uncovering and exploring the map. For the most part, this is due to some Pals only coming out at night, which is when most players decide to go to sleep. However, if you want to catch every Pal in Palworld, like Cawgnito, then you’ll need to become a nocturnal player.

Cawgnito is a pure Dark-type in Palworld that’s registered as No. 44 in your Paldeck. Like most other Dark-types in the game, Cawgnito only appears at night unless you hatch it from an egg. If you want to catch a Cawgnito the old fashioned way, check out the guide below to see where you can find them in the wild.

Fortunately, Cawgnito is located in two different regions, but its potential spawn points cover massive areas within these regions. You should have no issue finding a Cawgnito to catch as long as you’re out when the sun has gone down and the map is dark.

Below, you can see all of the potential spawns for Cawgnito on the map:

Since Cawgnito is a pure Dark-type, Dragon-type attacks are the best way to deal damage to it. When you feel you’ve done enough damage to its HP, I recommend throwing at least a Giga Sphere at Cawgnito. If you find one around levels 15-20, then this sphere has an extremely high capture rate. However, if you go to the northeastern desert region to find Cawgnito, they’ll spawn at around level 40, so make sure to bring a Hyper or Ultra Sphere for those encounters.
