While finding Feebas has always been a trial in and of itself, evolving Feebas has gone through several iterations in the Pokemon series. In Pokemon GO, evolving Feebas is once again a bit of an investment.

To typically evolve a Pokemon in Pokemon GO, you may need to earn a certain number of candies to get it or also to set it as your buddy for a while. When it comes to evolving Feebas into a Milotic in Pokemon GO, you’ll need to do both.

Feebas is, once again, a difficult Pokémon to find in Pokémon GO.

It isn’t available in eggs at the moment and you can’t battle it in Raids either at this time. As with most non-legendary Pokémon, your best bet is to encounter one in the wild. It can be a rare spawn during the correct conditions (Rainy weather can boost its spawn rate along with other Water-type Pokémon).

Other than that, some sort of in-game event would be the only other way to increase its spawn rate.

In iconic Magikarp fashion, Feebas is a Pokémon that appears weak and insignificant in its first form, only to become dramatically better when it finally evolves into Milotic. The same remains true in Pokémon GO, and there are two conditions you need to meet in order to evolve this pathetic fish.

First, you need to walk 20km (which is roughly twelve and a half miles) with Feebas as your buddy. Next, you need a whopping 100 Feebas candy to evolve it into Milotic. You normally get one candy for each 5km (or about 3 miles) you walk with it as your buddy. Prepare yourself for a lot of walking, and if you manage to encounter more Feebas in the wild, using a Pinap Berry can get you some extra Feebas candy upon capture.

Once you hit 20km and obtain 100 Feebas candy, you can finally evolve it into Milotic.
