LEGO Fortnite is full of important materials that will help you build things and ultimately grow your community. One of the more necessary items you’ll need for crafting are Metal Smelters. These contraptions melt down metals and make them into bars that can be used to create high-quality tools and other items.
Because it’s so important, you’ve probably gathered that it’s not going to be super easy to get your own Metal Smelter. Here’s how to start making one.
How to build a Metal Smelter in LEGO Fortnite
The journey starts before you even start building a Metal Smelter. You’ll have to unlock the crafting recipe first, which means you need to reach Level 9 in your village. You’ll need the following material to unlock the crafting recipe:
- 15x Flexwood
- 15x Obsidian
- 10x Cut Amber
To get these materials you’ll need to visit a Lava Cave inside the Dry Valley Biome, which is known for its heat and desert plants. Make sure you’re prepared for the extreme temperatures before traveling. You’ll find Amber and Obsidian within the Lava Cave. Flexwood is from the cacti found in the Dry Valley Biome if you have a Rare Forest Axe.
Making a Metal Smelter in LEGO Fortnite
Once you reach Level 9, the Metal Smelter recipe will be unlocked and found under the Utility Station builds. You’ll need the following resources to build it:
- 15x Brightcore
- 35x Obsidian Slab
- 3x Blast Core
To find these materials, you need to explore Lava Caves in the Dry Valley Biomes. Use a Rare Pickaxe to get Obsidian and defeat Blasters to get Blast Cores.
