Apex Legends Season 11, Escape, is now live with several major new additions to the game. Along with a new map called Storm Point and a new Legend called Ash, the game has introduced the C.A.R. (Combat Advanced Round) submachine gun. The C.A.R. SMG originally appeared in Titanfall and Titanfall 2, two titles Respawn Entertainment developed prior to Apex Legends.

The C.A.R. is a submachine gun that can use both heavy and light ammo. Players can switch between ammo types by using their Toggle Fire Mode button. Toggling between ammo types takes 2.13 seconds.

Both heavy and light ammo, when used with the C.A.R. SMG, deal the same amount of damage. The damage breakdown is as follows:

  • Leg shots – 10 damage
  • Body shots – 13 damage
  • Head shots – 20 damage

The C.A.R. SMG’s base magazine size is 20 rounds. It takes around one second to empty the 20-round magazine with both ammo types. The C.A.R. SMG also accepts both light and heavy extended mags at all levels, and only one is needed for both ammo types. Once players pick up an Extended Light Mag, for example, the magazine size increase applies to both of the C.A.R. SMG firing modes.

The new magazine sizes with extended mags are the same for both ammo types and are as follows:

  • Level 1 (white) – 22 rounds
  • Level 2 (blue) – 24 rounds
  • Level 3 (purple)/Level 4 (gold) – 27 rounds

Just a fun guy who likes playing games and also likes writing about people playing games.
