Pokémon has had a lot of Legendary Pokémon over the years but almost none have had the ability to evolve. To remedy this, there have been a ton of new forms for these Pokémon introduced and some require unique items to attain.

With so many out there you’ve probably forgotten all of the forms and how they are achieved, but here is a rundown of all the Legendary Pokémon that can change forms using items in the history of the franchise.

Can any Legendary Pokémon evolve using items?

The reality is there are no Legendary Pokémon that truly evolve using an item, however, there are many that can achieve new forms with the help of one. Below you will find a list of every Legendary Pokémon that can achieve a new form with the help of an item.

We’ve only included forms available outside of battle so don’t expect to see any Mega or Primal evolutions on this list.

Tornadus

Tornadus can achieve a Therian form with the help of the Reveal Glass key item. Simply use this item from your bag and choose Tornadus from your inventory to see it change into a new bird-like creature. As you’d expect, this change does adjust the Pokémon’s stats.

Thundurus

Thundurus is the same as the other powers of nature, using the Reveal Glass will change its appearance and stats, but this might be the least impactful visual change of the bunch. In Therian form, Thundurus is no longer floating on a cloud but visually looks quite similar to its Incarnate form.

Landorus

Using the Reveal Glass key item you can transform Landorus from its standard floating form into a Therian form. You’ll know this has been completed when the Pokémon stands on all fours, in fact, its whole appearance has a drastic change.

Enamorous

The newest force of nature is Enamorous and similar to the above, this Legendary Pokémon can also transform using the Reveal Glass. This new look is similar to a tortoise with a snake-like shell. It’s really quite unique.

Urshifu

Urshifu might be the most well-known item from changing Legendary Pokémon as it plays massively into the overall usefulness of this Pokémon. Simply give Urshifu the Scroll of Darkness to turn it into Single-Strike Ushifu, or the Scroll of Waters to become Rapid-Strike Ushifu.

Dialga

Thanks to Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Dialga can achieve its new Origin form with the use of an Adamant Crystal. In this form, the Pokémon looks drastically different, like it has something stuck in its neck. It’s truly one of the worst Legendary designs.

Palkia

Palkia also has an Origin form that’s accessible with the help of the Adamant Crystal. Using this item you’ll notice that the Legendary creature now stands on all fours, and its arms disappear for whatever reason. It is quite the design choice.

Giratina

Changing the form of Giratina can be done by using the Griseous Orb. This will switch things up from the standard for the Origin Giratina which floats in the sky and is significantly more powerful.

Kyurem

To change Kyurem to one of its forms you’ll need the DNA Splicers and one of the Legendary Pokémon Reshiram or Zekrom. Depending on which one you have you will be able to get a different form of Kyurem.
