It was a nail biter, but Beyond Gaming have kept their hopes afloat in the 2021 League of Legends World Championship. The second seed of the Pacific Championship Series suffered a loss against DetonatioN FocusMe initially on the third day of the Play-In stage, which ultimately forced them into a tiebreaker series against Unicorns of Love after the CIS representatives upset Cloud9. With a victory in that game, Beyond Gaming now face Galatasaray Esports once more, this time in a best-of-five.

Beyond Gaming Head Coach Lien “Benny” Hsiu-Chi said he was confident that his team will take revenge on their Turkish opponents for the loss on the first day of Worlds. After Day 3, he told Upcomer how his team dealt with the pressure of the games and why bot laner Chiu “Doggo” Tzu-Chuan finally got to play his signature champion, Draven.

Tom fell in love with esports in 2015 and has been reporting on multiple scenes since. In his spare time, he dwells on the Howling Abyss in League of Legends, or on the vast oceans in Sea of Thieves.
