The three-year run for the Paris Legion is now over after their loss to Atlanta FaZe at CDL Major IV. Earlier in the season, Paris announced they would be moving to Las Vegas, Nevada next season. With today’s loss, Paris’ 2022 season officially came to an end; they were disqualified for Champs long ago. The Legion end the season on a 112-day win drought and a 13-match losing streak. In all fairness to Paris, though, they gave Atlanta a run for their money in the first round of the loser’s bracket at Major IV.

FaZe looked dominant for the majority of the series against the Legion. However, they let their foot off the gas on a couple of maps and let Paris take them to a game five. In the end, though, McArthur “Cellium” Jovel was too much for Paris to handle, ending their Vanguard season.

Paris ceases to exist at the hands of Atlanta FaZe

As most fans predicted, Atlanta dominated the map one on Bocage Hardpoint. Though Paris made things interesting at one point, they were never truly a threat to win the map. Cellium continued his MVP season, going off for 41 kills and just 21 deaths in the map. However, the second map, Tuscan Search and Destroy, wasn’t too friendly to Atlanta; Paris made a number of surprising plays and defeated FaZe in 11 rounds.

Paris couldn’t celebrate for long, however, as they completely obliterated on the following Tuscan Control. Tyler “aBeZy” Pharris was emphatic during this map, shooting the body of a Legion player after a three-piece in the killfeed.

Once again following a loss, the Legion fought back on Tuscan Hardpoint. Just as things started to look dire for them, Donovan “Temp” Laroda stepped up to the plate, helping Paris take the series to a game five; Temp ended with over 4,000 damage in the map four Hardpoint. Alas, their cinderella story just wasn’t meant to be, as Atlanta put the work in on Paris during the Berlin Search and Destroy to close out the series; Cellium finished with an incredible 12-0 for the win.

This ends Paris’ 2022 season and their run as the Paris Legion. Meanwhile, Atlanta moves on to the second round of the loser’s bracket where they’ll play the winner of LAG and London later tonight.
