When it comes to information on Call of Duty: Vanguard and its launch, the floodgates have been opened. Sledgehammer Games decided to let players in on everything that’s arriving with the game when it releases on Nov. 5. From weapons to maps to perks, players have a ton of knowledge about Vanguard multiplayer. However, one aspect that might’ve been overlooked is the multiplayer modes coming to Vanguard next week.

Multiplayer modes are integral to how a Call of Duty title performs. Most players need enjoyable and competitive modes to stay interested in the game. Of course, others just need Team Deathmatch or Search and Destroy to be comfortable. Luckily, for all players, there are the standard modes coming to Vanguard along with some new options.

Multiplayer modes in Vanguard at launch

In total, there are seven modes coming to multiplayer when Vanguard launches one week from now. There’s also Champion Hill, which is the mini battle royale game mode that fans got to experience in alpha form. For strictly standard multiplayer, though, fans can expect seven options.

  • Free for All
  • Team Deathmatch
  • Kill Confirmed
  • Domination
  • Search and Destroy
  • Hardpoint
  • Patrol

Veterans of Call of Duty will recognize nearly every mode on this list. With the exception of Patrol, each of these modes has been featured in the franchise several times over. Patrol is Vanguard’s new mode that takes Hardpoint to a new level by moving the objective around the map.

Speaking of Hardpoint, Activision confirmed that the popular mode will be returning shortly after launch. The same goes for Control, which is great for competitive fans. Sledgehammer will also release a “small-team tactical mainstay” game mode shortly following release as well.

Those fans might be disappointed with the lack of a Ranked system at launch, but leakers have stated that it should arrive with, or shortly after, Season 1.

That’s it for the game modes in Vanguard multiplayer. Furthermore, there should be playlist updates to introduce new modes within the first couple of weeks, so fans shouldn’t get too comfortable with their choices.
