Team SoloMid may soon announce the introduction of a popular LPL player to North America. According to sources, Suning’s current support player Hu “SwordArt” Shuo-Chieh may replace Vincent “Biofrost” Wang for TSM’s 2021 starting roster. Current TSM support, Erik “Treatz” Wessén, and TSM owner, Andy “Reginald” Dinh, have added fuel to the fire with teases alluding to the deal on Twitter.

SwordArt joining NA

SwordArt joining TSM may be one of the team’s biggest decisions for the start of the year. The veteran League of Legends player is only 2 weeks fresh out of playing in this year’s World Championship Finals and is currently on the lookout for new opportunities. Removing him from Suning to TSM is a pricey move for North America, as it is also rumored that he’ll receive a $3 million annual salary.

Before joining Suning, SwordArt had an impressive resume with legendary LMS organization, Flash Wolves. He helped his team reach first place in the both 2017 and 2018 League Master Series Spring and Summer Playoffs. Once joining Suning, he managed to achieve first place in the LPL 2020 Regional Finals. Soon after, Suning came in second place for this year’s World Championship against Damwon Gaming. Although he’s participated in Worlds six times, this is the first time he’s gotten so far in the tournament.

TSM’s underwhelming results at Worlds shook the whole team up and even pushed their new head coach and then-mid laner Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg to call their overall performance an “embarrassment.” Adding SwordArt to the team might just be the boost they need, especially after losing Bjergsen from the mid lane. Treatz teased the soon-to-be-official deal to his Twitter fans by posting two emojis of crossed swords and a framed painting. Dinh also shared that he’s been binge-watching popular anime Sword Art Online, teasing TSM’s future deal with SwordArt.

While there’s no confirmed news as of yet, fans are expecting to hear from TSM regarding their new roster soon.
