100 Thieves have officially announced Josh “Steel” Nissan to their Valorant roster. Steel joins team captain Spencer “Hiko” Martin and in-game leader Nick “Nitr0” Cannella. Since 100 Thieves’ poor performance with Team Highground, they have made a statement with their recent signings. They took the Valorant scene by storm when they first signed Hiko and continued to show their dominance by securing Nitr0.

Hiko confirmed on stream after signing Nitr0 that 100 Thieves did not give them a set timeline for finding teammates. That allowed them to try out various players and find the squad that would bring in championships. With the last Riot Games’ sponsored event finished, there is room for movement within rosters. T1 esports recently released both food and crashies yesterday after multiple poor performances at tournaments.

Steel gains another chance in Valorant

IBUYPOWER dominated the North American CS:GO scene back in 2014 until a match-fixing scandal got 4/5ths of the team permanently banned. Sam “DaZeD” Marine, Braxton “swag” Pierce, Keven “AZK” Larivière, and Steel were all part of the original scandal. Now six years later, the players have taken their skills to Valorant. AZK and Swag, now Brax, joined T1 esports at the beginning of June. They joined former teammate Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham, who was the only one not banned during the match-fixing scandal.

Steel announced his transition to Valorant last week after stepping down from his position with Chaos’ CSGO roster. He recently helped Chaos place 1st in two B-tier CS:GO tournaments and netted them $45,000. With T1 already having 3/5ths of the original iBUYPOWER roster, some thought that they would bring in Steel. This theory was further fueled when they dropped food and crashies just yesterday.

However, Tyler Erzberger and Jacob Wolf of ESPN reported yesterday that they both predicted Steel to join 100 Thieves. Less than 24 hours later, 100 Thieves made an official announcement adding him to their current squad. Tyler Erzberger and Jacob Wolf also predicted Nitr0’s move to 100 Thieves a few weeks prior and are now 2/2 in their predictions.
