Rogue took home a hard-fought win in a volatile grand final of the North American Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) Season X Winter Regional 3.
Rogue faced NRG in the grand final after they came from the upper bracket. After high-paced games Rogue was forced into a bracket reset when NRG won the final game 3-1. Where bracket resets often lead to a victory for the resetter, Rogue proved resilient and kept their heads cool as they cruised their way to their first-ever RLCS tournament win.
A well-earned victory
Having reached the grand final straight from the upper bracket, Rogue was still permitted a loss. After defeating other North American top teams such as G2 Esports and title-holders Team Envy, Rogue faced off against NRG in the upper bracket final. These games went back and forth and it took the full seven games for Rogue to send NRG to the lower bracket.
NRG quickly disposed of SpaceStation Gaming in the lower final and earned a shot at revenge in the grand final. At first, it seemed they would get that revenge. But after NRG won the first series 4-3, Rogue came back fresh and collected the victory. They swept NRG 4-0 in the second series of the grand final, earning themselves $30,000 and 401 points on the leaderboard. Runners-up NRG received $15,000 and 300 points.
Rogue’s first-ever RLCS tournament win
Rogue has been a household name in the RLCS. They have held presence in the top flight of Rocket League since RLCS Season 4 and have gone through numerous roster changes to find the success they desired. Their best result came during the RLCS Season 7 World Championships, where they finished in a shared third-fourth place. Now they finally claimed their first-ever RLCS tournament victory.
After a disappointing season eight and nine, in which Rogue finished near the bottom of the table and had to defend their RLCS spot in the promotion/relegation tournament, they have now shown to be capable of playing with the top teams again. With just the Winter Major next month left to go before the spring split begins, Rogue is sitting in second place with 851 points in the winter standings and fourth in the overall standings with 1501 points.

The top six will qualify for the RLCS Season X World Championships later this year.
