Each basic team skin costs 100 tokens. Special items generally cost 200. With real money, buying 100 tokens costs USD 4.99. So, updating your email will get you five dollars worth of tokens for free, which is enough to buy a basic skin.
In the past, you could get OWL tokens by connecting your Twitch account to your Blizzard account and watching games on Twitch. Ever since Blizzard moved all sports to YouTube, however, players haven’t been able to get the tokens without paying money.
Blizzard has discussed trying to bring drops to YouTube, but they aren’t currently available. As of right now, this offer is the only way to get the tokens in Overwatch without spending cash.
