The new year has injected Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with a revitalized competitive community. Flashpoint stands in stark opposition to the long-standing competitive hold ESL Pro League has developed through ESEA. CSGO organization Mythic, partnering with FaceIt, now throws its own hat into the ring with its own competitive league system: the Mythic League League.
Since its founding in 2012, Mythic has grown to become one of the most recognizable names in semi-professional CSGO. Its popularity blossomed as the members started to stream all matches and scrims, providing an insight into team play typically kept behind doors. Furthermore, Mythic’s FaceIt hubs have garnered nearly 4.1 thousand subscribers and continue to provide a competitive system for players of all skill levels.
Last week, Mythic teased this reveal with a video “announcing an announcement.” Many Twitter users replied with hopes that Mythic would host a LAN. Others suggested the video meant the reinstatement of Mythic League’s Diamond division.

Mythic League League
According to their announcement, Mythic’s league will start on May 25. It will run through June 23, spanning almost five weeks. To conclude the season, playoffs will take place from June 26 to June 29.

League format
Mythic League League has invited 20 teams to participate in its first season. Four teams will earn their spot through an online qualifier taking place on April 18-19 and April 24-25. The top two teams from each qualifier are awarded a spot in the tournament. The league roster will split the squads into four groups of six. For the regular season, squads will play five best-of-two matches. Each match counts as two best-of-ones against other teams in their respective group, so you’ll earn two points instead of one.
The top three teams from each group will qualify for playoffs. Moreover, the leading team from each group will receive a first-round bye. Teams are allowed to schedule one match per week, excluding the final week, where the last two games will be played.
Prize pool
The Mythic League League offers an attractive prize pool, totaling $20,000 USD. The distribution of winnings is as follows:
- 1st place: $10,000 USD
- 2nd place: $4,000 USD
- 3rd/4th place: $2,000 USD
- 5th-8th place: $500 USD

Mythic sources confirm for Daily Esports that the following teams have signed onto the league:
- Swole Patrol
- Triumph
- Bad News Bears
- Orgless
- Recon 5
- Under 21
The full list of teams hasn’t been announced. However, we’re sure that the organization will release more details over the next few weeks.
Mythic League League: Open division
The league will also host an open division starting May 17. Teams will face off in one best of one match per week under a Swiss format. Groups interested in participating must be subscribed to the Mythic FaceIt hub and will face no additional team fees. Mythic’s open division will last seven weeks and culminates in a TBD weekend tournament. This Open will also feature a $5,000 prize pool.
The official Mythic League Twitch channel will hold broadcasts for Invite and Open matches. All matches that aren’t cast on the channel feature open IPs available for anyone to use.
