Hearthstone has just unleashed its latest update, and it features a free Legendary, a free card back, and deck builder improvements. Upon logging in, Hearthstone players will receive Archmage Vargoth, which is a free neutral Legendary card. Although Archmage Vargoth is a Rise of Shadows card, it can be added to current decks. Players can start using it right away in Standard and Wild matches before the scheduled Rise of Shadows launch on April 9.

Along with the free Legendary, players can get the Machine Dreams card back upon logging into the game. Hearthstone indicates that the card can be “Acquired by logging in on a PC.” This card back is one of the four newly added ones to the collection. The other three designs are Awesome Blossom, Pristine Scenes, and Legion Schemes.

As for deck builder improvements, it’s revised a couple of aspects that were introduced in the game’s previous major update. Now, Hearthstone players can more easily convert Wild decks to Standard ones with a single click. Players can also go to the deck selection screen and have the builder complete a deck for them.

The Hearthstone team advises, however, that the “smart deck builder will need some time after Rise of Shadows goes live in order to gather the necessary data to effectively suggest cards from the new set.” The recommendation is to wait for a couple of days before using the smart deck builder when it comes to decks built around the Rise of Shadows expansion.

In addition to these updates, the artwork within Hearthstone got a revamp. A bunch of “Choose One” cards now have unique art added for each option. These cards are Dark Wispers, Jade Idol, Living Roots, Mark of Nature, Nourish, Power of the Wild, Raven Idol, Starfall, and Wrath.

As players enjoy these new updates and anticipate the launch of Hearthstone‘s newest expansion, they also have the option to pre-purchase either a Rise of Shadows mega bundle or 50 Rise of Shadows card packs.

The mega bundle consists of 80 packs, the Jewel of Lazul card back, a random Golden Legendary, and Madame Lazul as a new Priest hero. Meanwhile, the other option includes 50 card packs, a random Legendary card, and the Jewel of Lazul card back.
