As reported yesterday, Fortnite patch v 5.30 is now live and adds a new item, the Shockwave Grenade, to Battle Royale. Players also see the return of the Solid Gold LTM. In this limited-time mode, all weapons are of Legendary rarity. This mode has been available in the game before; with today’s update, it’s available to play either Solo or 50v50.

However, aside from these additions, this is a relatively low-key patch. This is to be expected following the delay of last week’s larger update, which dropped on Thursday instead of Tuesday.

Shockwave Grenade: “Send yourself flying!”

The new Shockwave Grenade is functionally very similar to the existing Impulse Grenade. However, there are a few differences to separate the two items. Unlike Impulses, the Shockwave Grenade is capable of destroying objects during a player’s trajectory. Furthermore, Shockwave Grenades do not deal fall damage to players or vehicles.

The official patch notes are as follows:

  • Shockwave Grenade will knock players back and destroy objects in their path after being knocked back.
  • Allies, enemies, and vehicles hit with Shockwave Grenade will not take fall damage.
  • Drops in stacks of 2, maximum stack size of 6.
  • Epic Rarity.
  • Can be found in Supply Drops, Vending Machines, Llamas, and chests.

Fortnite patch v5.30 is now live and adds a new item, the Shockwave Grenade, to Battle Royale. Players also see the return of the Solid Gold LTM.

Patch 5.30 also adds Mythic Ninja, the Bladestorm Enforcer

Meanwhile, on the PvE side of the equation, Save the World players can now unlock a new hero. The Bladestorm Enforcer, which is a Mythic rarity Ninja class hero, uses the same model as Battle Royale’s Enforcer skin. This skin is unlocked in Battle Royale by completing seven weeks of Road Trip challenges. Save the World players can purchase this hero from the event store starting tomorrow, August 29.

Furthermore, there is a new weekly Horde Challenge. For week four of this challenge, players are tasked with defending their fort without the use of traps. Players who complete this week’s challenge will receive “Redline Ramirez,” a legendary variant of Raider.

That sums up content update 5.30. What do you think of this week’s drop? Don’t forget that the new Ace starter pack is also available in the store as of today. Sound off with your thoughts in the comments below, and tune in for this week’s challenge guide later in the week.
