Former NBA MVP and 15-time all-star Kevin Garnett was revealed to have invested in Triumph Esports. The investment was done through Big Tickets Sports LLC, an event management and production company that the NBA player owns. Triumph Esports is an esports organization that owns Rivalcade and Triumph Gaming. Rivalcade is an esports event company and Triumph Gaming is a professional esports team.

Triumph Esports
“Our relationship with Triumph Esports is a natural fit as we look to showcase and elevate shared lifestyle experiences through competition, content, and live events,” said Kevin Garnett. “Our vision is to create unique experiences that impact our fans across a variety of passion points.”
Triumph Esports was an unknown name before the investment announcement. However, the organization currently has rosters in games like Overwatch, Apex Legends, and Teamfight Tactics. The Overwatch team is participating in the North American West Contenders league where it has made playoffs. The Apex Legends team will also be competing in the Krakow, Poland Electronic Arts Pre-Season Invitational in September.

Kevin Garnett’s investment in esports follows many other NBA players. These include Michael Jordan, Steph Curry in TSM, and most notably Rick Fox with Echo Fox. Garnett is an American professional basketball player who played 21 seasons in the NBA for teams like the Minnesota Timberwolves, Boston Celtics, and Brooklyn Nets. He retired from professional basketball in September of 2016.
