Fnatic has officially announced the extension of Zdravets “Hylissang” Galabov’s contract, keeping him in the bot lane for the next year. The off-season free agency period has sparked some changes in the Fnatic roster, and Hylissang will find himself playing alongside someone other than their long-time ADC Carry Martin “Rekkles” Larsson.

Hylissang fans can relax knowing they’ll see him playing Support for his team in 2021. The Bulgarian 25-year old has been a key member of the roster since 2018, helping them reach top place for multiple splits. Unfortunately, this year Fnatic had a rough time winning in the Summer and Spring seasons and eventually ended up in 5-8th place at Worlds.

Extending Hylissang’s contract

Although Hylissang is staying with the team, he’ll be working beside a few new faces. Fnatic has recently confirmed the departure of Rekkles, who is going on to play with Fnatic rivals G2 Esports. After many years of success following the ADC, the team may experience some uncertainty for the upcoming splits. Furthermore, the new Fnatic roster includes the introduction of Yasin “Nisqy” Dinçer in the mid lane, replacing Tim “Nemesis” Lipovšek. Nisqy has recently parted ways with Cloud9, sparking the team’s buyout of G2 Esports’ Luka “Perkz” Perkovi as his replacement.

Jakob “YamatoCannon” Mebdi will also be Fnatic’s new coach. He will be replacing Alfonso “Mithy” Aguirre Rodríguez, who made his debut at the beginning of this year. YamatoCannon recently coached for SANDBOX Gaming, and previously for Team Vitality. His teams haven’t had much success throughout different splits and championships, but hopefully joining Fnatic will be a new change of pace.

Relief and concern from fans

Fnatic announced Hylissang’s contract extension through a Twitter post that included a montage of his experience at Fnatic so far. Among the replies, Fnatic fans showed satisfaction at the news. Others responded with curiosity on who may be the next ADC to play beside him.
