After another disappointing performance, Fnatic is making their second roster change in the past month. This time, they are sending William ‘draken’ Sundin to the bench. In his place, they will be bringing back Simon ‘twist’ Eliasson to the lineup.
Today, we welcome back @twistCSGO to our Counter-Strike lineup.
The 23-year old will be replacing @drakenCSGO ahead of the start of the ESL Pro League tomorrow.

Welcome Back Twist
Twist is transferring from Red Reserve after spending the past few months with the team. However, he is now returning to Fnatic’s starting lineup. The last time Twist was on Fnatic, he would help Fnatic get a top-four finish at ELEAGUE Major: Atlanta 2017. Twist would have this to say about rejoining his old team:
I’m thrilled to be back at Fnatic, an organisation I have always looked up to since I started following the professional scene. I’m happy to team up with some of the best Swedish players in the scene and I’m confident we are going to do great things. I will not take this chance for granted. Thank you to those who have always believed in me.
They now look ahead to their next challenge as a team, ESL Pro League Season Eight, where they will face off against some of the best teams in Europe, like Astralis, FaZe Clan, Na’Vi and Mousesports.
Roster Change Frenzy
These recent failures have forced Fnatic into some pretty drastic roster changes in September. After their uninspiring performance at the London Major, Fnatic would bench longtime member Robin “flusha” Rönnquist. It was the first time that Fnatic would not make the playoffs of a Major. Also, they would lose their Legends status, meaning they would have to play through the qualifiers at the next Major. Flusha would eventually be picked up by Cloud9 soon after. In his place, they would bring in former Team Envy player, Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom, ahead of ESL One New York. Unfortunately, his presence would not change much for the team.
They would drop out of the tournament after placing last in the group. The only big upside was the play of ScreaM, who did show off some great plays here and there. However, it looks like Fnatic believes more changes were needed, and that Draken was the odd man out. The Swede would say afterward, “I want to thank Fnatic for my short time here and I wish the players good luck. Although this was not the best fit for me in terms of timing, I am excited to try new things and look forward to whatever my future brings me.” Even the organization would say that “untapped potential might not have been met in his short time within the starting roster”.
What’s Next
As we said, Fnatic will be competing the ESL Pro League for Season Eight. This will be a good indicator of whether or not this roster will work out. Note that the only player Twist has actually played with on the team is KRIMZ, who has been with Fnatic since 2016. We will have to wait and see if new teammates in the familiar environment can help Twist succeed.
