Calling all PUBG gamers! Grab your squads and gear up for the biggest esports tournament to hit Australian shores. The “Red Bull Fight or Flight” competition powered by Omen HP is aimed at all players, regardless of skill. Run in partnership with ESL, 4-person squads will battle it out – royale style – until the last team stands.

Fight or Flight: unique in-game settings

Will your team fight or fly? Two unique in-game settings are being bought to PUBG for the competition. These settings are different to other esports events. Games will be super fast-paced, lasting no more than 15 minutes each. The playing field will shrink rapidly, causing more damage to players. Additionally, loot spawns are more concentrated and packages contain better equipment.

The qualifiers are open to all gamers, no matter what their skill. With this in check, the Red Bull Fight or Flight competition promises to level the playing field of both pros and amateurs. This should make for a fantastic viewing experience where it’s anyone’s game.

If this wasn’t enough to tempt players in entering, Fight or Flight offers a bunch more. There’s a $45,000 AUD prize pool up for grabs, a chance to play on stage, and score an all expenses paid trip to the PUBG Global Championship Grand Finals.

National and International esports

The prize money is awesome, but lots of players love the chance to play on stage. The Red Bull Fight or Flight tournament offers plenty of opportunities for stage appearances. The qualifiers – which again are open to ALL players – will take place at PAX Australia at the Red Bull and OMEN booth. Not all the action in happening in Melbourne however. Whilst Melbourne has received some great success with the Melbourne Esports Open, we know lots of fans and players are in Sydney too. Some qualifiers will take place in Sydney on the 2nd November. Following these qualifiers, a grand final will be held at the Carriageworks in Sydney the same day. The finals will be played in front of a live audience and streamed on the official Red Bull Twitch channel. Check out the tournament structure for an insight into the player’s journey.

The winning team will go on to play in the global PUBG championships taking place in Oakland California on 23 and 24 November. If you’re keen to play, you can enter the competition at the official ESL Play website.
