Bot laner Ilya “Gadget” Makavchuk has reached a verbal agreement with SK Gaming Prime for 2022 sources told Upcomer Saturday.
The Belarusian player will once again play in the Prime League Pro Division, as he did with MOUZ last season. He ended his time there on a high note, as the team won the PRM Pro Division 2021 Winter Cup. However, MOUZ didn’t manage to make it out of the group stage at European Masters 2021 summer main event.
Gadget is also known for his time with Unicorns Of Love in the Commonwealth of Independent States region. Several first place finishes with that team qualified him for the 2020 League of Legends World Championships, the 2021 Mid-Season Invitational and Worlds 2021. He is not the first player from the CIS region to end up in European Regional Leagues, though. In 2018, Nikolay “Zanzarah” Akatov did so by joining KIYF eSports Club in the Spanish ERL. Today, Zanzarah plays in the League of Legends European Championship with Astralis.
SK Gaming Prime is rebuilding its roster with jungler Edgaras “Eckas” Strazdauskas, mid laner Sven “Dehaste” Vidović and support Patryk “Mystiques” Piórkowski, also reported by Upcomer. They plan to keep their top laner Alois “Alois” Nelissen according to sources close to Upcomer.
In 2021 SK Gaming Prime did not see any EU Masters play, with only modest placements in the spring and summer regular season and playoffs. The last time the team did play in the ERL tournament was in 2019 spring when they placed second, losing to Misfits Premier 0-3.
