Out of the two current shotguns in Call of Duty: Vanguard, the Revolving and Auto Loading, the former is much stronger than the latter. The Revolving Shotgun can deal much more damage in Vanguard but takes a solid amount of skill to use effectively. With the Auto Loading Shotgun, players can simply spam the trigger and hope for the best. Of course, this spamming process is made a little more effective with the shotgun’s best loadout.

In terms of traditional shotguns, the Auto Loading is what Call of Duty fans know better when compared to the Revolving Shotgun. The Revolving variant is more of a sniper, especially with the Slug Rounds, while the Auto Loading is what every COD title has included in one way or another.

Best Auto Loading Shotgun loadout in Vanguard

According to the Vanguard developers, players can fire the Auto Loading Shotgun as fast as they can press the trigger button. This sounds great on paper, but in execution, the story is a little different. The Auto Loading Shotgun is fairly weak at all ranges and will cause players to know the hitmaker sound better than the sound of actual gunfire.

Still, with the gun’s recommended loadout, players can find some success.

  • Muzzle: M97 Full Choke
  • Stock: Ragdoll P-Wire
  • Underbarrel: Carver Foregrip
  • Magazine: 12 Gauge 7 Round Mags
  • Ammo Type: Incendiary
  • Rear Grip: Stippled Grip Tape
  • Proficiency: Discard
  • Kit: Quick

What this Auto Loading Shotgun loadout does is improve upon mobility, accuracy and magazine size. The base magazine only comes with five bullets, which isn’t nearly enough given how prone the shotgun is to hitmarkers. This loadout increases that by two while also adding some damage.

For mobility purposes, the Stippled Grip Tape, Ragdoll P-Wire and Quick Kit come in handy. Finally, accuracy is managed by the M97 Full Choke and Carver Foregrip. The Auto Loading Shotgun isn’t close to as powerful as the best weapon in Vanguard, but it can be a fun gun with this loadout.
