Out of all of the weapons in Call of Duty: Vanguard, the NZ-41 might be the most polarizing of the bunch. It’s considered one of the biggest high-risk, high-reward weapons thanks to its extremely high recoil but equally high killing potential. As soon as players equip the base NZ-41, they’ll see just how much recoil it holds. While Sledgehammer Games might change this aspect, for now, players can equip a particular loadout to minimize this recoil.
Though the NZ-41 is still outclassed by its assault rifle counterparts, namely the STG44, players can still have success with it in Vanguard. It has an insane kill potential, featuring a decent fire rate and damage. The biggest part of having success with the AR is managing its recoil, which the recommended loadout as well as it can.
Best NZ-41 loadout in Vanguard
The gunsmith system in Vanguard is a bit different from previous titles. Most of the attachments in the system carry negative effects along with the positive change. With the NZ-41 specifically, players don’t need any additional negatives with the weapon. As such, the recommended loadout might look a little bare, but it allows for the biggest chance of success.

The goal of this NZ-41 loadout is to minimize its recoil while keeping kill potential high. The Compensator G28 and M1941 Handstop accomplish this objective, reducing recoil and not adding any over-arching negative effects to the AR. The rest of the loadout supports the NZ-41 in various ways, with ADS speed and stealth added to the mix.
Lastly, the optic in use, the Slate Reflector, is the community’s general pick — but ultimately it’s up to the player. The Slate Reflector is great for any range but if players want to stay at a further distance, a larger optic would be the best route.
This NZ-41 loadout won’t catapult it to the top of Vanguard but it will help it compete with the others in its class.
