DRX announced that their League of Legends team will be going through changes with the departure of coach Park ‘dongHo’ Dong Ho and player Yoon ‘Destroy’ Jeong Min on Friday morning.

DRX releases Destroy and dongHo after disappointing season

The changes to DRX’s roster come after a disappointing Summer Split where the team finished last in the LCK. They held a 2-16 record at the end of the Summer Split and were the worst team in the league.

DRX has changed significantly since last year. From going to Worlds with a stacked roster that featured the likes of Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu and super star mid laner Jeong “Chovy” Ji-Hoon. The roster also included Ryu “Keria” Min-Seok, who now plays for T1 and is considered one of the best support players in the world. Going from Worlds contender to last in the league in the span of one season – a fall from grace would be an understatement. DRX released their entire roster at the end of Worlds last year, leaving only Hong “Pyosik” Chang-Heon.

DRX became the fastest team in LCK history to lock in a last-place finish, a disappointing result to say the least. Coach dongHo moved up from their academy team with his contract ending Nov. 21. On the other hand, Destroy ends his stint as a substitute top laner for DRX at the same time as dongHo. Both Destroy and dongHo will now look for opportunities elsewhere, as DRX continues to rebuild back to their glory days.

Whether or not DRX will grow over the off season is the most important question coming into next year. The team has been on a downward trajectory, but with a few changes to the roster or players developing after a split together, DRX may reclaim their glory days.
