New Overwatch 2 information, along with a pro exhibition match, is coming during the Overwatch League Grand Finals. Major changes coming to the sequel include a re-work for both Bastion and Sombra.  Tune in during the pre-show and the half-time show on Sept. 25 at 5 p.m. PT to see the live reveal.

Grand Finals host Overwatch 2 re-works in pre-show

The 2022 Overwatch League season will be played on an early version of Overwatch 2. We’ll finally learn a little more about what that means during the final Overwatch League match of this season. These re-works aim to make them more balanced for the new competitive changes in Overwatch 2, including the switch to 5v5.

While not mentioned in this announcement, other significant changes are also coming to support heroes. Overwatch 2 will tune down healing and crowd control since there will only be one tank at play.

Bastion is also getting a redesign along with his mechanical re-work.  Some of the key changes include a new hat along with smoother edges on his metallic frame.

Halftime hosts a professional showmatch

Overwatch 2’s gameplay was revealed earlier this year, but we haven’t seen much multiplayer gameplay. During the halftime of the Overwatch League, professional players from the league will face off in a 5v5 exhibition match on an early build of Overwatch 2. Pro players will be able to give Blizzard feedback based on their time with the game.

The two teams competing in the grand finals shouldn’t be playing in the exhibition match, as they have a championship to win. You can watch the grand finals live on Sept.25 via the official Overwatch League YouTube Channel. It could be the last time we see top players in the original Overwatch.

The Overwatch League playoffs run from Sept. 21 – 24, also broadcast on YouTube. Be sure to check out Upcomer’s previews of the Los Angeles Gladiators, Atlanta Reign, and Philadelphia Fusion.
