A new issue has arisen in Fortnite Chapter two, season five and players want a fix for it immediately. ‘The Child’ back bling is a reward on the Battle Pass and is, of course, Baby Yoda from the Disney+ show The Mandalorian.
The season is Star Wars-themed so it made sense for Epic Games to add the cultural phenomenon. However The Child pet is causing some major issues in-game and the community isn’t thrilled about it. The back bling is severely broken and puts players at a huge disadvantage while having it equipped.
Baby Yoda back bling broken
In a world of microtransactions, players have deemed the items in games that are overpowered ‘pay-to-win.’ This essentially applies to cosmetics or in-game items that can only be bought for real-life money. In-game, these items are usually better than what players can unlock through gameplay or other methods that don’t involve money.
Fortnite Season five seems to have changed up this forumla, thought. While there are arguably pay to win cosmetics in the Battle Pass. The Child is being dubbed as ‘pay to lose.’
When a player has this specific back bling on, their aiming becomes impaired thanks to the largeness of the item. Half of the screen is taken up by Baby Yoda and his pod, making aiming and shooting nearly impossible, following a video which depicted the issue on Reddit.
You can’t see where you’re aiming at all when using The Child pet sometimes, either make him see-through when aiming or move him more to the left, please get this to the frontpage so Epic Games can see this. from FortNiteBR
Obviously this is something Epic Games will need to patch sooner rather than later. Players work hard to level up their Battle Pass and acquire The Child back bling. Unfortunately, upon earning it, they can’t even use it due to the disadvantage it provides.
Hopefully, a patch is on the way for the issue and players can resume having Baby Yoda on their back.
