When wandering the streets of Night City in Cyberpunk 2077, there are countless things to find and do. From the seemingly endless amount of side quests to the various characters you can interact with, you’ll never be bored in any region. While exploring the city and its many activities, some players noticed a strange looking weapon. Placed beside a homeless man, this gun is one of the few weapons in Cyberpunk 2077 to have a name. Called ‘Skippy’, this talkative Smart Gun is one of the most unique iconic weapons in the game. As such, you may be wondering what location on the map you can find the pistol in.

Where is Skippy in Cyberpunk 2077?

The location of Skippy isn’t in a difficult-to-reach spot on the map, so any player can go and grab the weapon. However, the game doesn’t outright tell you where the pistol is located. Instead, you’ll have to navigate to a specific quest marked by an exclamation point.

The exclamation mark you’re looking for can be found in Vista del Rey in the Heywood region.

Upon arriving in Vista del Rey, head to the marker located in the southwestern part of the location. Once at the marker, you should see a fence that leads into an alley. Hop over the fence using the garbage bags in front of it and find the homeless man laying on the ground. Next to him is Skippy the Smart Gun, which you can then freely pick up.

Stone Cold Killer or Puppy-Loving Pacifist?

After you loot Skippy, it’ll strike up a conversation with you. The dialogue is mostly unimportant but the gun will eventually pose a question as to how you want it to perform. This is important. The first of two options is “Stone Cold Killer,” where the gun will configure itself to only shoot headshots. The second option is “Puppy-Loving Pacifist” where the gun will only shoot your target’s knees. BE WARNED: While most players will be inclined to immediately select the headshot option, if you select the Stone Cold Killer configuration, Skippy will change into the Puppy-Loving Pacifist mode after you get 50 kills with it.

The only way to keep Skippy in the Stone Cold Killer mode permanently is to select Puppy-Loving Pacifist first. Then, once you’ve used Skippy to kill 50 enemies, the gun will ask V a question. You must answer with “I don’t know” or refuse to answer (requires 8 Cool) for the gun to then switch to the Stone Cold Killer mode permanently. If you select the “Killing is wrong” response, Skippy will remain in the Puppy-Loving Pacifist configuration. Try your best to not mess any of this up because once Skippy selects a configuration, it is irreversible. You cannot change it again.

If Skippy becomes too annoying, or you decide you don’t want it anymore, you can turn the pistol into Regina Jones for a side quest. The gun was originally hers and she’ll reward you with 7,000 Eddies for returning it. If you do this, there’s no way to get Skippy back. Once again, choose wisely.
