After much speculation as to whether the event was happening or not, Valve has released a blog post announcing Supporter’s Clubs, The International 10 and new in-game events coming next month for Dota 2.
The International 10 dates and details
Valve has confirmed that The International 10 (TI10) will be taking place in Stockholm, Sweden. This is in accordance with their initial announcement during The international 9. The group stage will be taking place August 5-8 2021 and the main event will be 2 days after, August 10 through 15. Valve has held back on announcing any other details for the tournament and will be expected to show more information in June.
No Battle Pass!?
Along with the announcement of The International’s dates, Valve has also announced that there will be two overarching in-client events. The first will be coming out mid-to-late June and the other will occur after The International 10. Neither of these events will fund the prize pool. What Valve has implied is that there will be no battle pass this year for the fans to enjoy. What is usually considered a large part of the hype around TI is now being replaced with an in-client event.
Whether or not these in-game events will properly replace the battle pass is still to be seen.
Soooo no battlepass this year? I'm hoping these 2 events are going to be really wellmade then, because battlepass is for many dota players a highlight to look forward to in itself, not just TI.

Valve Announces Supporter’s Clubs
Another large section of the blog post introduces Supporters Clubs. This feature allows fans of teams to purchase a bundle that grants them custom voice lines (voiced by the players and personalities of each team), custom team sprays, emoticons and loading screens. The rewards are separated into three tiers with increasing rewards the higher you go.
This is one of the best ways for fans to support their specific team, as 50% of the proceeds of each Supporter Club bundle will go to the chosen team. More information on the Dota 2 International 10 is available in the full blog post.
