Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 is set to arrive on December 10 for all systems and platforms. So far, dataminers have uncovered a number of different items and content that could come with the installment. The Striker shotgun, several new maps, and new game modes are all virtually confirmed at this point. However, one thing we haven’t really heard about is the potential for new scorestreaks. Currently, multiplayer only features 16 streaks, which is a tad lower than fans were expecting. Luckily, data-miners found that the famous K9 Unit could be a streak coming with Season 1.
Black Ops Cold War Season 1 to introduce the K9 Unit?
A fan-favorite scorestreak, the K9 Unit was a staple of the Black Ops franchise during the early 2010s. Present in both Black Ops and Black Ops 2, the dogs were a menacing and lethal killstreak. However, Treyarch opted to leave the K9 Unit behind in Black Ops 3 when it introduced the R.A.P.S., a mechanical version of the dogs.
Since then, no game has featured a streak of that nature. However, Black Ops Cold War could be changing that if a recent leak holds true. According to @WarzoneNewz, a prominent leaking account, the K9 Unit is currently planned to release with Season 1.

This is fairly interesting, as the dogs weren’t on the initial leaked scorestreak list that surfaced in late October. That list featured five streaks that were in the game at some point but were cut from the final build. The K9 Unit was not a part of the cut streaks, though.
At this point, it’s hard to deny the possibility of the dogs returning since the streak is in the game files. Also, Black Ops Cold War is in need of some more lethal scorestreaks and there are none more ferocious than the K9 Unit. As Season 1 draws closer, we should hear more about that possibility and other content as well.
