Paris Eternal sign French Contenders player Arthur “dridro” Szanto to replace Alberto “neptuNo” González who retired from professional Overwatch on May 6.
Paris Eternal’s original battle-Mercy will be replaced by an up-and-coming young French player. Dridro has been competing in Overwatch since 2017 when he dominated the Go4Overwatch Europe Cups. On team Oompaloompas, dridro won nine of the eleven Go4Overwatch Cup events from October to early December.
That success continued in 2018 when he bounced between different rosters competing in Minor events. He placed first at the ZOTAC CUP Overwatch tournament for North America before finishing the year off with a fist place finish at the Angry Cup. Dridro also got his first experience in the Contenders league when his team finished top eight at the Season One European match.
In 2019 dridro went back to bouncing around different rosters in the minor league. He then signed with Montreal Rebellion for the Overwatch Contenders League. He would stay in the Contenders league, playing for Uprising Academy and eventually landing a spot on New Kings in 2021. After years of success, dridro will finally land a spot in the Overwatch League at only eighteen years old.
Paris Eternal loses a great support, gains another in dridro
NeptuNo was known as a legend in the Overwatch League before he announced his retirement last week. While he has retired from professional play, neptuNo showed interest in pursuing a coaching role in the future for a team. At 29, neptuNo was in the upper age bracket of professional Overwatch League players. He will now be replaced with young talent that has been waiting for the chance to shine.

Dridro gained the attention of many after he helped New Kings win the Contenders European Major back in the first part of May. New Kings defeated Shu’s Money Crew in the final 4-1 to take home over $14,000 in prize money. His success as a young support main should be perfect for Paris Eternal’s current dynamic. Dridro will fit in to the team’s composition as he mains some of the same support heroes that neptuNo had before him. Paris Eternal will debut dridro in June for the June Joust.
