Fans of the original Call of Duty: Black Ops are sure to be excited with the newest weapon in Season 3. On Thursday, May 6, in both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, the CARV.2 tactical rifle was added; a near replica of the G11 from Black Ops 1. It looks and sounds like the G11, but does it perform like the dominant rifle from Call of Duty’s glory days?

The biggest attribute with any tactical, three-round burst rifle is its damage. As players can’t fire off as many shots in a row, the damage of the weapon needs to be increased. However, in Warzone specifically, tactical rifles have been a problem in the past due to their overpowered nature.

The CARV.2 doesn’t seem to give off that vibe but it certainly presents another option at a loadout drop.

Best CARV.2 loadout in Warzone

The CARV.2 is built similarly to the AUG and M16 from Black Ops Cold War. It features comparable damage and accuracy but has a slightly faster fire rate. While its damage is lacking, compared to the other tactical rifles in Warzone, that can be made up with certain attachments.

There are some staples on the recommended CARV.2 loadout, as well as some unfamiliar attachments, which are currently broken in Warzone:

  • Muzzle: Agency Silencer
  • Barrel: 22.3″ Cavalry Lancer
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 45 Rnd Drum

For veterans of Warzone, attachments like the Field Agent Foregrip, 45 Rnd Drum and Axial Arms 3x scope are nothing new. Each attachment accomplishes a different goal necessary to make the CARV.2 viable in Warzone. The Agency Silencer is the most important, however, as it increases damage range and keeps players off the map.

The unfamiliar sight is the 22.3″ Calvarly Lancer barrel. In Warzone, this attachment is supposed to increase vehicle damage but it actually increases bullet velocity. Currently, this is the only attachment on the CARV.2 to boost that statistic. So, until Raven Software addresses this issue, this is the best barrel to use.

While the CARV.2 won’t break Warzone like the DMR or AUG, it’s still serviceable and worthy of testing.
