Learfield IMG College has announced the addition of Rocket League to its Level Next esports events with a $125,000 collegiate Spring Showcase.
As of May 4, 2021, students attending a four-year accredited university can sign up for the Rocket League Spring Showcase. The four-week competition begins on Monday, May 10, and 1500 students are expected to compete. The $125,000 prize pool is split up into a $75,000 tournament prize pool and a $50,000 Twitter competition.
Bringing collegiate Rocket League to the next level
Psyonix has a history of promoting collegiate Rocket League. With an official partnership and a $125,000 prize pool, Psyonix shows its continued faith in future talent of the esport.
In addition, the Rocket League Spring Showcase is also the beginning of a Unilever sponsorship. The collaboration between Level Next, Unilever and Rocket League aims to create awareness of food insecurity on U.S. college campuses. Also, Unilever will donate one million meals to Feeding America in effort to promote its National Day of Service on May 14.

College students can sign up for this opportunity on May 4.
Collegiate playoffs
The official Collegiate Rocket League (CRL) Conference Playoffs are also going down. The remaining four teams per region will battle for the lion’s share of $35,000 in scholarship prizing, as well as a top two finish. This will qualify teams for the national finals. On May 5, the Eastern teams are taking to the field. Finally, on May 6, it’s up to the western teams.
