The debate surrounding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer remastered is still ongoing in the community. One side says that Activision is simply biding its time to release the popular mode. However, the other side is adamant that Activision is sticking true to its word, which is that the multiplayer is not in development. Well, we have no concrete information either way, but a leaker has given us an update on Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer saying not to expect it.

Is Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer in development?

The leaker in question, TheGamingRevolution, predicted last year that Modern Warfare 2 Remastered would arrive. At the time, we didn’t know if this was just going to be the campaign or the entire game. Of course, now we know that just the campaign was being worked on, but nonetheless the leak was accurate.

In recent weeks, TheGamingRevolution (TGR) has vehemently stated that MW2 multiplayer is being tested. Despite Activision saying they will not release the multiplayer, TGR believed that this is a ploy to distract the community.

However, that was a couple of weeks ago. Fast-forward to now, and TGR has changed his tune due to info from his sources. Apparently, the real reason Activision didn’t release the multiplayer is because the company believes the community wouldn’t like the mode in today’s age. You can watch TGR’s latest video for more information.

If you played Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, then you know how many issues the mode had. From One Man Army to noobtubes to a plethora of map exploits, it was and is still a plagued experience. Though, this is what many players enjoyed about Modern Warfare 2.

Of course, that was 10 years ago and things have changed. Supposedly, Activision thinks enough has changed to where the Call of Duty community wouldn’t find the same enjoyment in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer.

Whether this leak is true or not, it seems improbable that Activision will release a remastered version of multiplayer. Though, the publisher can always change its mind.
