Another update in Fortnite Season 2 is upon us, as v12.20 released earlier this morning. Epic Games didn’t reveal any clues to the community as to what the update will contain, but as always leakers have provided that information. While it’s not a massive update, v12.20 still holds some great content, including the long-awaited arrival of the Choppa helicopters. There are also map changes and some adjustments to certain in-game mechanics. Let’s hop in and see everything that changed with the new Fortnite update.

Helicopters finally arrive in Fortnite

Ever since the Season 2 reveal trailer, players have been wondering when Helicopters will make their debut. The day has arrived. Starting with patch v12.20, players will finally be able to get to the Choppa! You can read the new vehicle’s official in-game description below.

  • Get in and lift off. Grab up to 4 other squadmates and take on the enemy teams with this new vehicle.

On one hand, this is extremely exciting, because it means that you can transport your entire squad in one helicopter. On the other hand, this allows players to get their squad in a Choppa and hang out in the skies while stalling out. Either way, these spiffy new vehicles should surely lead to some explosive final circles!

You can check out the teaser for these awesome new Choppa helicopters on the official Fortnite YouTube page!

The Season 2 map is receiving changes

One thing that was missing from Chapter 2 Season 1 of Fortnite was weekly map updates. Unlike previous seasons, there was no real storyline to follow, which meant Epic had no reason to alter the map. However, that appears to be changing with Season 2.

It’s not much, but there are some definite differences with the v12.20 update, and it looks to be hinting at more alterations in the future. You can take a look at the new Fortnite map, courtesy of @iFireMonkey.

As you may notice, the Oil Rig seems to be spilling even more oil into the ocean. We’re not entirely sure what this means, but hopefully, more clues will surface in the future.

Additional changes in v12.20

Lastly, v12.20 introduced a plethora of new LTMs to the files of Fortnite, including the new Spy Games mode, which we’ve attached below. While the remaining LTMs won’t be released for a few more weeks, you can get an idea of what’s coming on @iFireMonkey’s Twitter page.

That’s it for this update! Let us know what you think, and keep up with Daily Esports for all your future Fortnite news!
